BBC Woman’s Hour: Prostitution

Today’s and tomorrow’s Woman’s hour includes a feature on prostitution.

Prostitution laws across Europe, including the UK, are very much under the spotlight at the present time. MEP’s have voted to actively support the Swedish model, whereas organisations such at the World Health Organisation say that decriminalisation in the answer.A leaked Amnesty International policy document also highlights that Amnesty International are considering a policy supporting decriminalisation.

This morning’s Woman’s Hour spoke to those in favour of the Swedish model and the criminalisation of clients, including Rachel Moran. Tomorrow (11th March, 2014) the programme will speak to some of those who believe that decriminalisation of sex work is the way forward.
